Everything you need to know about booking, planning your session, what to expect, and receiving your final images.

THE DETAILS

A Little Planning
Goes a Long Way.

Every session is a little different, but the process shouldn’t feel complicated. Below you’ll find answers to some of the questions I hear most often from clients.

If you don’t see your question here, just reach out. I’m always happy to talk through your ideas and help determine the best approach for your session or project.

01

Booking &
Payment

How far in advance should I book?

I recommend reaching out at least one week in advance whenever possible. This gives us enough time to discuss your session, choose a location, plan around lighting and weather, and make sure your preferred date is available.

Last-minute sessions may still be possible depending on availability, so you’re always welcome to ask.

How do I book a session?

Start by contacting me with the type of photography you’re looking for, your preferred date, and anything you already have in mind for the session.

From there, we’ll discuss availability, location, pricing, and the details of your shoot. Your session is officially reserved once the required retainer has been received.

Is a retainer required to book?

Yes. A 50% non-refundable retainer is required to reserve your session date and time. The retainer is applied toward the total cost of your session, with the remaining 50% due on the day of the shoot.

Your session is officially booked once the retainer has been received.

When is the remaining balance due?

The remaining 50% balance is due on the day of your scheduled session. Any additional services or advanced editing requested after the session will be discussed separately.

02

Cancellations &
Rescheduling

What if I need to reschedule?

I understand that plans can change. If you need to reschedule, please contact me at least 48 hours before your scheduled session.

One reschedule is permitted, subject to availability, and your original retainer will transfer to the new date.

What happens if I cancel?

Because your session date and time have been reserved specifically for you, the 50% booking retainer is non-refundable if the session is cancelled.

If you’d prefer to move the session rather than cancel it, please contact me at least 48 hours in advance and your retainer can be transferred to one rescheduled date.

What if I reschedule with less than 48 hours’ notice?

Rescheduling requests made less than 48 hours before the scheduled session will normally result in the original retainer being forfeited. A new 50% retainer will then be required to reserve another date.

I understand that genuine emergencies and unexpected situations happen, and those circumstances may be handled individually at my discretion.

What happens if I miss my session?

A missed session without notice is considered a no-show and the booking retainer will be forfeited. A new retainer will be required to schedule another session.

What if you need to cancel the session?

In the unlikely event that I need to cancel your session, you may choose to reschedule and have all payments transferred to the new date, or receive a refund of the amount you’ve paid.

03

Your
Session

Where do sessions take place?

That depends on the look and feel you’re after. I photograph throughout Jacksonville and Northeast Florida and can help recommend locations based on your session, lighting, scenery, and overall vision.

If you already have a meaningful location in mind, I’m happy to work with that as well.

What happens if the weather doesn’t cooperate?

Florida weather can change quickly, so I keep an eye on conditions leading up to outdoor sessions.

If weather conditions would prevent us from creating the quality of images we planned for, we’ll work together to adjust the time or choose another date. Weather-related rescheduling initiated by me does not require an additional retainer.

What should I wear?

Choose something that feels like you and that you’re comfortable wearing. For couples and families, coordinated colors generally photograph better than everyone wearing identical outfits.

If you’re unsure, feel free to send me a few options before the session and I’ll be happy to offer guidance.

I’m not comfortable in front of a camera. Is that okay?

Absolutely. You aren’t expected to arrive knowing how to pose. I’ll provide direction throughout the session while keeping things relaxed so the photographs still feel natural and authentic.

Can I bring ideas or inspiration?

Definitely. Reference images, mood boards, locations, or even a general feeling you’re trying to create can all be helpful. We’ll use those ideas as inspiration while creating photographs that are unique to your session.

Do you travel outside of Jacksonville?

Yes. I regularly work throughout Northeast Florida and am open to projects outside the Jacksonville area. Depending on the location and scope of the project, a travel fee may apply.

Do you photograph weddings?

I do not currently offer wedding-day photography. My work focuses on portraits, couples, engagements, families, events, real estate, automotive, food, and commercial photography.

04

Editing &
Delivery

How many photos will I receive?

The number of finished photographs depends on the type and length of your session. Your package will clearly state the number of professionally edited images included before you book.

What does your editing include?

Every final image receives professional color correction, exposure and skin-tone adjustments, light blemish retouching, and removal of minor distractions when appropriate.

My editing style is natural and polished. I want you and the scene to look their best without making the photograph feel artificial or heavily filtered.

Do you offer advanced retouching?

More involved Photoshop work — such as major object removal, extensive alterations, clothing changes, or other complex edits — is considered advanced retouching and may require an additional fee.

If you have something specific in mind, just ask and I’ll let you know what’s possible.

Do you provide RAW files?

Finished client galleries are delivered as professionally edited, high-resolution JPEG images. RAW files are unfinished working files and are not normally included with portrait or personal photography sessions.

Commercial projects with specific file requirements can be discussed separately before booking.

How long does it take to receive my photos?

Turnaround varies by project, but most portrait sessions are delivered within approximately 3–5 days after final selections are made. Larger events and commercial projects may require additional time depending on the number of images and editing involved.
